Default Front brake lever causing brake light to flicker

I'm guessing that my brake light switch is bad. If i jiggle the lever up and down the brake light will flicker on and off also it happens anything above about 40 mph the wind will push the lever enough to again jiggle and activate the brake light. So that being said anybody have the part number for the brake light switch I would need on a 2014 dyna street bob.

Unlikely that the switch is bad. Just has fallen out of place slightly allowing the condition you describe. Open it up the control housing to see if the spring that holds the switch in place is still where it is supposed to be, and the swtch as well.

Be sure to use a small piece of cardboard or similar between the lever and the housing when you remove the lever so don't break the switch.

Have you changed your levers or master cylinder at all?

Reason I ask is because I changed the levers and master cylinder on mine and had the same issue. Changed back to the stock lever and had no issues. I got the stock lever powdered but had them leave part of it taped off so that the powder would not interfere with the action on the lever.

If you've done any of those mods it's worth checking out.

Try loosening the housing and pushing the lever and master cylinder closer together, or bleeding the line to make the lever stiffer.

Check with your dealer on a warranty replacement on the master cylinder. I had mine replaced on my 14 FXDL about a month ago when it was doing the same thing. Seems that there was a streak of problems in the 14 Dynas.

My 2010 does this. It's the shitty cover. I just wipe it up as I wipe the bike down after a ride. Never affects brake function though.

There is a small detent nipple on the break lever housing that may be broke or worn down. I broke one while installing my handle bars.
