Default Turn signal question

I have a 2013 Fat Bob. I just relocated the front turn signals from the handlebar to the front fork. The wires are connected correctly. When I turn the ignition switch on, the turn signals light up, but when l push the turn signal control buttons, the signals won't flash. This is a CANBUS system. There must be some way to reset the controls. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

I would appreciate some help from anyone who has done this! The service manual isn't helpful. It probably involves checking and clearing codes. I'm really stuck here!!!

Did you have to splice and solder wires?

I did not splice and solder. I ran new wire harness from bullet lights to connectors under tank. I'm confident that wiring is good, otherwise I don't think the signal lights would come on at all. I need to somehow reset the computer.

did you use the HD relocation kit? Reason I ask is that method (canbus) requires you to do a front turn signal auto-learn procedure.

I did't use the Harley kit. I made mounting brackets using the handlebar brackets. There is an old thread on this forum explaining how to do this. The wiring is exactly the same as the Harley kit. I agree that the computer needs to be reset to recognize the new lights. I went through the procedure of flashing the hazard lights ,etc. and it didn't work. I will try this again. I think I am missing something simple! Thank you fo the advise.

I see you mention checking for codes but I'm not clear if you did, so did you check for codes?

I did this last year and my just worked, it didn't require any resetting, I wonder also if just disconnecting the battery and reconnecting and checking them again might work.

But what do the codes say?

I haven't checked for codes. I'm not sure how to do this.

I cycled through the auto learn procedure a couple more times. Now, the right turn signal works, but not the left. Maybe my Fat Bob is a slow learner!
