Bought myself a 2012 Fatbob and just got it delivered today. Got one little complaint- Lots of exhaust popping. I got it from a dealer and bought the 2 year full coverage package. So I'm just wondering is it normal to pop like this?? Hard throttle decel pop and downshift popping. Are they running that lean now to cause this or should I look for something else and complain to the dealer?? Or should I try making it a richer mixture. It has stage one s.e. air intake and reinhart exhaust. All suggestions welcome.

 

No it's not normal. Have you got a tuner with it or has it just been fitted with the air cleaner and exhaust system?

 

I got a tuner with it and the bike has s.e stage 1 cone air filter and reinhart 2 into 1 exhaust. I would have thought the dealer would check the bike before selling it?? I bought the bike like this. I haven't added anything new.

 

If you've got a tuner you're ok. For whatever reason it's got past the dealer but at least you're able to do something about it. What kind of tuner do you have?

 

Where you are I would check out Jarz in Abbotsford or Lone Wolf in Nanaimo and get a good dyno tune...an indie can offer parts and services that a dealer won't...and a good dyno tune is worth it

 

The dealer probably downloaded the Stage 1 map on the tuner but that is still not a good tune. If you are done with mods, a dyno tune from a reputable tuner would be worth it.

I bought my bike used with exhaust, air cleaner, and stage 1 download from HD. Lots of decal popping until I got my powervision.
