Also, you might have to rewire or rebuild you turn sigs connectors because they will be going into the light housing for power and not under the seat. You'll have the harness going from under the seat to the main tail light and the sigs branch out from there. Not sure if removing the STT module under the seat will make a difference (if you have one, not sure if the canbus system uses one), removing it might only make your sigs just sigs and not additional run and brake lights.
I believe the base with the connectors is specific to canbus bikes. My fender came off of a 2011 Superglide and didn't have the correct base. I had to buy the base listed for 2014+ FXDL

You'll also have to take it into the dealer to have the BCM reprogrammed so that the brake light and turn signals do not light at the same time. My dealer did it for free but YMMV.

Well that's good to know. It's not a resistor thing.. It's actually programmed different?

I can see it already with all the people swapping fenders...introducing the 2017 Street Bob with the new full length rear fender! I can't blame those that are switching, that bobbed fender did nothing for me.

No way. You see a lot of people on here maybe, but this is a small sample of people that own Harleys. I work with three guys that own Dynas that came stock with full and they all chopped them.

I think that it, like everything else, is a cycle. I am looking for a FULL rear fender (think cholo'd out softail) for my wide glide at the moment.

Hey Gartec,
I realize this is a bit of an older thread. Did you ever get this all buttoned up? I'm doing this to a '15 Street Bob and I've got a fender on the way and want to go ahead and start ordering parts. Did you run into any problems? Did the dealer have to reprogram the BCM? Does anyone know of a curved license plate frame to go with the Kuryakyn Laydown Curved Mount? Or does it come with a frame? Thank-you!

I ordered the parts posted on the previous page. The base plate doesn't fit. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what part I may need? Thank-you
