Default Sunday morning wrench and ride!

I woke up bright and early today and decided to mess with the WG while I drank my morning coffee. First thing I did was add a 3 inch riser extension from DK Custom Products. Just a little FYI, but this fits beautifully with stock cable lengths. I could probably squeeze another inch out of them without much trouble. This changes the whole feel of the bike. They set the bars in the perfect position for my 5'10, 235# build. Total time, 10 minutes. Second thing I did was remove the stock sissy bar. I ordered a taller bar from Slibs Fab Farm, but it hasn't come in yet. I figured I would get a jump on things and take the old one off today. This one had me a little worried. I read all the posts talking about jacking the bike up(I don't have a jack yet) and carefully threading the wire back into the channels. I assumed this would be tedious and time consuming. It wasn't... The 4 bolts were removed, the wires were unplugged under the seat and pulled out, I popped the plastic retainer tabs out, pulled off the sissy bar and reversed the steps. The wires go easily back into the channel, even with my XL hands. Total time, 20 minutes. Then I poured my second cup of coffee and admired the new, clean look.

The weather is beautiful here. I took it out and burned through an entire tank of gas just putting around the metroplex. I enjoyed having it set up for solo riding for a change.

I hope this helps make the task seem a little less daunting than all of the other posts on this subject. These were both simple jobs that require no real skill and no wires had to be cut, shocks removed/dropped or bike jacked up.
