Gas Tank Lift & Fuel Gauge

Gas Tank Lift & Fuel Gauge
I put a 2" lift kit on my gas tank. I love it. Looks like it was always supposed to be this way (too bad it wasn't from the beginning). But now my fuel gauge is way off. I realize I can ignore it, because I already know how many miles I get out of a tank and already track millage (because I'm nerdy and like to know unneeded details on MPG and trips).
It is, however, annoying to have the low gas light on for nearly half a tank of gas, and my trip read out always telling me low fuel when I've got another 70 miles on this tank. Is there a fix for this?

I just use the milage on the speedo , press the button to see how far you have gone. At 75-85 mph I get about 150-160 miles per tank depending on how fast I'm riding. At 120 miles ridden I'll start looking for gas station. Bending the float is a good ideal , bent too much might give you false fuel reading. Also a if you have shocks bigger than stock when the bike leans on the kick stand fuel read low.

I'd still do it, just because it looks awesome. But the fuel gauge thing is annoying at most...not a big enough deal that I'd drop my tank back down. I just figured there might be some magic out there for how to fix it without just aimlessly bending a float rod and hoping it's close.
