Default How High can you Rev your TC Motor?

I was just curious, for comparison, my stock tc88 tops out about 4,200 rpm before power drops off big time. I'm not sure why but I've never reved it over 4k, it's almost like the bike won't do it.

I've thought I've read about folks shifting at 5500 or even 7,000, is this true?

My rev limiter is set to 6500 and its not uncommon for me to hit it.

Stock bike? .. rev limiter. Most tuners will let you set that differently.

Don't forget the TC's were made with at least a couple different strokes. Longer strokes are more low end torque motors, while short strokes like to rev higher. It sounds like you have one of the long stroke motors.

He's got a TC88. That'd be 4" only I believe.

My TC88 has no problem pulling strong to 5000 to 5500 rpm,, haven't took it any higher. Heck 4200 is normal shifting point if I want to "get on it" a little bit ... all stock except for AC and pipes

OEM 88" with a pipe/air filter will run out of steam about 5500, and even by then, they are only slowing building power from around the late 4000's.
Cams, cylinder heads, intake, exhaust, compression, tune, change that.
