Default Engine swap 88 to 96

I have a 2004 Dyna with a stock 88 and 5 speed.
Will a 2007 96 cu in bolt in with my existing 5 speed?
Any changes to the 96 engine case that may affect bolt in?

No it won't work.

Your trans housing has oil hoses #17

The 2007 housing has oil passages instead.

Thanks and grateful for your help.
On that case, would the complete 2007 96 cu in engine with matching 6 speed transmission
bolt into my 2004 frame?

It will be the engine, tranny and swingarm...

If you're wanting some more fun when you twist your wrist, you might do just as well, to put a 95" big bore kit, and a little headwork... will more than keep up with a stock 96.

Yeah just do 95" and some cams, that alone will **** on a 96", heads will have you hanging with 103's and 107's depending on what you dump into it.

For a bagger frame, you'll have to use a later model left swing arm bracket to clear the primary.. Too bad you are giving up the 5 speed.. Much better than the 6..

While the motor is the same, the tranny and primary cases are still different between baggers and Dynas.

Why is the swingarm needed?

I agree with keeping the 88 ci motor / drive train.. Better tranny, better compensator, less load on the inner primary bearing.. Better primary chain tensioner. Only things worse are starter replacement is harder and old style cam chain tensioners.
