Rear fender

Rear fender
Last year I drilled holes in my rear fender to mount my led plate frame, I'm regretting it now and want to go with a different look. What do you guys think would be more economical, repairing the fender and painting it or buying a new fender and painting it? I'm not even sure if it can be patched, 4 holes are about 1/4in and one hole for the wiring is about 5/8 in.

Smaller holes can be brazed (sp?) And as long as the bigger one has some kind of backing you can skim coat it with mud.The smaller can be mudded also. It should be fine. Your going to have to have it sprayed though.(painted) If you do the patch work then take it somewhere for paint, Chances are the painters going to touch it up most likely anyway.High build primers hide the small stuff. That being said it is black sooo it's got to be fairly decent before paint.

Take your time and ask around. A lot of times those guys will do it on the side for cheap. If you at least show effort repairing it,looking up paint code etc. chances are they won't gouge you with the cost of painting it. 3m makes all kinds of adhesive that you could use to apply some sheet metal to the backside of the fender. Hell, they glue PU truck roof panels on with it. This is on the cheap now. Or,you could just cut that whole wounded appendage off and throw a Voodoo fender on it. Good Luck!
