I'll be watching as well. I was thinking of something similar since I know they sell something like this aftermarket for the touring crowd (and apparently it works).

I am tuned in. I have the HD 1/4 coming, and am getting the taller screen.

There's a taller screen option for the HD 1/4 fairing?
More info please

I can't seem to get the buffeting on my HD 1/4 fairing to stop. I've adjusted it, and it did help slightly, but now the fairing leaves a 1" gap between the headlight and the gasket.

I may be getting one of these and trying it. I was trying to feel where the air came from last night, and I do get some air coming upwards, probably because I have a 3" tank lift, so there's more space for the air to travel upwards.

Man, I hate it when I ride my bike and I get wind in my face. Sucks.

So I got a chance to try it out last night. Either I didn't set it up right or it doesn't work because I didn't see any difference.

Normal wind, without a fairing, I don't mind. Buffeting, I hate.

I'm with you on that, I got a dyna to have a motorcycle, not a two-wheeled convertible. But 6hr highway rides can be daunting without a little wind deflection.

I'm not a fluid dynamics guy or an aerodynamicist, but it seems to me that buffeting is caused buy high pressure air collapsing into the low pressure area behind the fairing/windshield near the rider's head. It seems this would be speed dependent. Above and below a certain speed it should ease up, correct?

Following that logic, without changing the size/angle of the windscreen, it seems you would want MORE air flowing UP right behind the windscreen to push that turbulent air over your head.

That, or lay down the windshield some.
