Default Anyone removed the fairing on a LR-S

I brought my LR-S to the dealer last week to get some work done on the forks, and I pulled off the Memphis Shades Cafe I installed and ride it down naked (the bike, not me thankfully).

I had a nice highway run and I enjoyed the clean air a lot. I have been using a cafe fairing for a while and forgot what it was like without one. I gotta say, I liked it.

I put the fairing back when I got it back, but now I'm thinking about taking it off.

Has anyone else removed the fairing? If so, would you mind posting a photo? I always thought the stock 5 3/4" looked a little small, and on my old low rider I put a wide hooded trim ring on the headlight (see below) which I'd want to put back on, but I'm not sure if the chrome would look right, or if I should maybe PC it black...

The chrome may go ok since the tubes are silver, but the triples, bars and sliders are black so I'm not so sure. maybe I'll try a little photoshop.

So here's my photoshop mockup. Please excuse the digital handlebars.

My question is more about the chrome headlight trim. I think it goes with the now exposed fork tubes...

And here is it with really bad photoshop powdercoating...

I think I like the chrome. I'll post an actual photo when its not f'n raining...

I like it. But, I also like the (minimal) wind protection the fairing gives me. It does look good, maybe better without the fairing. For me, black headlight with the chrome trim ring looks best as in the 1st photoshop pic.

Think it looks best with the chrome giving a little contrast.

Yeah, that will look good with the chrome! I have the HD 1/4 sitting in the garage, so I am waiting to see the instructions you get

Default Done

Here she is. I can always go back in 10 min if I change my mind.

Now to get a Wild1 8" Chopper T-bar cause I don't like the exposed wires and the riser extensions being visible...

And I think I'm going to use a shorter mounting block for the bucket. Looks a little tall to me.

And maybe some sig relocations.

Those are the stock bars. I put DK Customs 3" extensions on it.

This is why I'm thinking (the black one obv) except straight risers, no pullback bend.

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, that does sound cool! I have considered the straight bars, as well.
