don't see the fascination with the Low Rider S

I couldn't be happier that harley released the fxdls. Yes I think it could be better looking but I can appreciate what they did to it as a whole and the look alone wouldnt stop me from buying it. As far as I know, every other bike in the "s" line just gets the 110 thrown in and they call it quits. I'm almost more excited about the updated suspension then I am the motor because it shows they recognize the demand for decent handling bikes from the factory. Yes the wheels are a little ugly, the fairing could be bigger and I'd like the regular low rider fender better, but I'd be willing to be that most people that buy this bike will be changing/upgrading those things and more.

No fascination. I wanted a LR with cruise, better suspension, and as much engine as I could get. Obviously, the looks are a matter of taste, and I have already changed much of the S right the hell out of it. The engine...well, I won't be happy until it lays down 130 HP on a DynoJet.
The bike handles great for a Harley. Not sure where the hate comes from.
Odd thread.

The OP is right: The addition of ABS, cruise, TBW, performance suspension, and a 110 motor shouldn't get anyone excited. I guess I will just return mine since it doesn't have as much chrome as a regular Lowrider and that is more important...according to the OP.

Club bikes in the Bay Area in the '80s & '90s were pretty much all FXR's & most of them had a lot of chrome, nice paint, & ran real good. I'm not sure where the paint everything black deal got started. Most of us just figured that those were the guys that didn't have the $$$ or were tweakers that got carried away with a rattlecan.

Ditto....I think it's an awesome bike, but my 2014 runs great and I couldn't justify spendin' $12K plus trading in my LR with a clear title for the bike. I wouldn't have have done it for $9-10K either. The dealer closest to me wanted $20K, no way, not gonna' happen. I plan to keep my '14 LR for a loooong time.
Personally, I don't like chrome and wish my LR had less of it...but whatever floats your boat.
