Default Tank Bib or not to tank bib

I'm pulling my Switch apart to powder coat the front end and console. I'm wasn't planning on not running a tank bib but it doesn't look horrible without it. I can't stand the factory design I'm looking for something custom if I do replace it.

pictures of different bibs would be cool and opinions on running one or not also..

Pulled mine..I just couldn't find anything I liked.
A little skim of mud and smoothed the welds up a bit before paint though.

Mine has a slight hump under the bib but not horrible it's not an unsightly weld line or anything.
I'm not having it painted ..................yet lol powder coating will be expensive enough

I run the Mustang Tank and Fender Bibs on my FXDF. The fender bib to help cover some of the scratches from the original seat before i got the bike.
I run the tank bib because i think it looks alright and i love the extra easy access pocket. I dont have pics but can snap a couple if you want em.

Thanks man, it is fiberglass. Rocket Bobs is the shop that made it, I saw they built one for their BlackBird bike and I sent them an email asking them to make me one. Havent seen it before on any other style bike, especially the dyna.

Wow you're looks so clean like that! If you don't mind me asking about how much did you pay? I know there're stuff isn't cheap. I also like how they added the motogadget speedo on that build.

Thanks man the clean look is what i was shooting for. I paid about 375 for it shipped. which is pretty expensive for what it is but I have 0 experience with fiberglass, and when I spoke to a friend (who has some experience but not alot) about how I may want to try it..he laughed said its way harder than I think. I also like the motogadget speedo also but they said it would cost 850 or something so I opted out of that one.

thanks MFC for the help .. awhile ago i saw this thread ..

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...hed-oh-my.html

and asked gartec81 (ty) about his dash delete panel .. he fab-ed his out of ..

(his reply) .. "I cut two discs of stainless and made my own blank."

personally i am not "set up" to work metal so i sketched out something i could do in Fiber-Glass .. i do have those skills as i was a mold and pattern maker in a former life.

interesting .. my design and the one that you obtained from Rocket Bobs are within a nats eye of each other. i did have visible screws for attachment ... as i hadn't thought that far to come up with a blind method ..

?? how is yours fasted in place ??

your friend is correct .. it isn't a cake walk to make .. but it isn't a mars expedition either .. Rocket Bobs isn't giving them away .. and given that .. i may just have to come up with my own next winter .. it would be a good project for then ..

if i did it .. how many of you guys would be interested in obtaining one ?? can't see it being a 375$ part

thanks again MBM48
