I've done quite a few 80 MPH+ runs with friends on sport and sport touring bikes. My Wide Glide is a '13 with a 103"; I'm running a really good tune, lots of mods, and weigh 145 pounds and there will never ever be a windscreen on my beastie
At 80 - 85 MPH in 6th I'll get right at 42 MPG; I don't touch 6th until 75 MPH. If I drop it back to a 62-65 MPH in 5th I'll get 49 - 50 MPG...
Today I filled up and rode 130 miles, mostly above 80, sometimes close to 100 (closed course professional rider) my bike says I have 70 miles left in the tank.

Do you know how many gallons you put in at first and then at the end so I can do the math?
I may have misunderstood the question. I thought it was MPG while riding "In to" the wind. Columbia river gorge, 50 MPH headwind @ 65 MPH I got 32MPG.
You are 100% correct. I'm definitely not going through what you are though. If I'm not leaning against my back aka backrest, then I have to put my feet on passenger pegs and lean way down. How do you do it?

Same way, and try to avoid the Columbia Gorge. I did 750 miles that day and it was no fun.
Last trip to beach on 14 low rider with 103 motor, 280 lbs in weight I Avg 48.6 mpg. That was light wind though I'm sure it would have dropped in heavier wind. Usually avg high 30s low 40s when just out riding and I ride pretty hard. Oh and that's a stage 1 bike
