Default Front end vibration

Hey, just picked up 2013 fxdbp. Tires are HD and 85%. When i am going any speed between 15mph and up and pull in the clutch to coast i can physically see the vibration from wheel, fender, lower forks shake. If i give it gas the vibration goes away and it accelerates fine without shaking or vibration. Ive always has bigger bikes so maybe its just feeback from the road on a smaller bike like my street bob? Feels like more then just feed back.

Could be a couple of things. I had fall away adjusted to about 1", instead of the 2" that H-D allows. That fixed it for me, but my vibes were only around 2k.

There's actually a lot of stuff that can cause vibration. Even things in the rear of the bike can make the front end feel funny. Is this your first harley? Not to be rude, but are you sure it's a front end shimmy/vibration vs a general buzz/vibration felt thru the bars? Dynas tend to vibrate more at low rpms then at crusing speed due to the ruber mounted motots. A bad front motor mount could cause similar syptoms but it would likely get worse with speed. Put your bike up on a lift and spin the front tired to see if the rim is bent or If the tires have odd/uneven wear. Check your fork legs to make sure they are even in height coming out of the top clamp. It could also be related to the fall away or a bad neck bearing. Good luck diagnosing the problem and ride safe.

Dyna front ends will shake a little bit, when the engine is as idle speed, unless the front brake is applied. As you noticed, it smooths out when you bring the engine rpms up.

I have had a similar thing happen twice lately, almost like I am running over rumble strips on the road but no bumps in the road, I think my front motor mount may be the problem. I read somewhere that allowing oil to run on to it during oil changes can cause the rubber to fail early.

Rubber and oil do not play well together..if your ride is an 07, you should probably replace your front mount... how many miles?

Ive got 68k on my 08 and Ive replaced my stock mount twice already... running a Predator now.
