Default Squeaking shocks.

This might be more equipment related and I'm sorry for that. Newly installed Progressive 412 rear shocks on my FXD squeak and I wondered if anyone else has this happen. I don't want to just squirt weasel **** up there but want to do it right. Thanks

I would start with lubricating the rubber bushings at either end of the shock.

+1 on lubing the bushings. Sometimes the rod can squeak at the seal where it goes into the body of the shock and that would be another spot to lube.
Make sure the shock is mounted perfectly even from top to bottom, if it's at an angle you'll have other problems.

A good rubber lubricant is parrefin wax. Aerosol sprays work ok but the propellant dries out the rubber causing it to age and crack.

Both sets of my 412HD squeaked on the right side only... more of a metallic squeak tho...like the full cover housing touching the shock body.
