I made my cover plate from fiberglass. Simple and effective.

What happened with the AC cover?
I need one. Nemo guys idea is really not hard. As long as the muds not like a 1/2 thick should be easy. I'm glad I'm not knee deep in this.

So frustrating. I think maybe its time to learn to make these things an put some money back in my pocket. I just dont get why dudes that make these things refuse to make simple changes.

Gotta find some guy with a 3d printer that wants money

I have been looking for a reason to get a new tig machine, so maybe this is a good enough reason. A little dremmel action to get rid of the stock wrinkle coating, and an hour or two of some weld and grind.

Yeah man, I threw it up there just to see if it would sell. If it did, I would just start another project.

Is the newer console stamped steel? Mine are all die cast mystery metal. Never tried to weld on one, tho, so they may be OK...

good man, we'll see what he says. I really dont get why no one has fabed one for profit. Or why guys that make this stuff get all snippy when you ask them about making one. They'd only need to really put in work one or two times to perfect a design (or even make a modular one) then just rake in money.

where is capitalism when you need it?

I just assumed it was stamped steel... Seems cheaper than cast anything. I never really gave much attention to the material type the last couple times I had the dash off.

I made 5 of the cover plates from fiberglass and a couple from aluminum with ribs. Got a guy lined up to make some from Kydex too...Sold a couple, but really couldn't get any interest generated in them. Decided I wasn't going to move forward with making more.
