Default brake pads

Simple question...

I pulled my rear wheel off last night to have the tire replaced. I was looking at the rear brake pads and if it was a car i would be replacing them shortly...

But i have never bought new brake pads for a motorcycle. Does anyone know how thick the pads are when new? I may have hardly any wear on them im not sure.

Bike is a 2014 Fat Bob.

Thank you!

I honestly can't tell you how thick the pads are when new; never measured them. I do know I care about how fast I can haul this bike down from speed, I replace the pads and do a bleed and flush of the brake fluid front and rear every year.

You've got the rear off, a perfect time to change the pads and flush the brake fluid. Motorcycle brake pads are inexpensive, these Lyndall pads cost $40 or so each for the front and rear; change them out. Your bike is a '14; the pads are gone.

We ride on two tire contact patches; everyone wants to talk HP and torque numbers and that's cool, but how fast can you actually stop that beastie? Don't go cheap...

Check out D2moto for sintered brake pads. I have used them on my Heritage and Road King with good results. They ship free. These pads are price low enough to replace as often as you are close to needing them.

Take a look at EBC-V pads. brake dust is gone and stops really good.
