Default Chrome Storage Tube Pics

I love the drag bars on my Wide Glide. The handling is great and the bars look good with the 3" tank lift. But, the wide forks and narrow 12" bar risers conspire to give the upper steering area a shrunken head look. It was odd looking down from the seat at the headlight that looked so small between the forks.
People here suggested a leather pouch atop the triple clamps. Since I'm not into leather, I wanted a more modern look and sought something in chrome. Thanks to Glide05 here on HDF, I was able to get the one shown in the pics below. The ends unscrew and it gives 8" length x 4" diameter storage.

The light is still small, but I think it looks better now. A 5.75" x 9" headlight is next.

I've always thought the 5 3/4 inch lights looked small. Even on the Sportsters. For some reason the 7 inchers look way too big the few times I've seen them on Dynas though a lot of that is due to them being too long. The 5 3/4 inchers also look funny with the auxiliary lights as they're almost as big. Too bad someone can't come up with a 6 1/2 inch headlight. That would beef up the front end.

Scott

Which bars do you have? Will the stock cables work?

Hey Rich!
Those are Wild-1 Drag Bars model 507 with a 10" rise and a 12" pull-back. The resulting hand position is almost exactly where they were with the stock bars, but a little wider. They are really comfortable.

The cables all reach fine. I changed out the brake line though because the stocker is shaped to follow the stock mini ape bars.

Are your bars covered under the recall? I got my dealer to install these bars and do all the wire threading at no cost. You might look into it.

Metal Mike here on HDF did it for me. I shipped it to him and had it back in a few days. He does great work!
