Heel Shifter for Wide Glide

Heel Shifter for Wide Glide
So, at this point my foot has lost it's ability to up shift, not sure why. The medicine mad is looking into it, but what to do? Well I can't imagine getting a different bike. My FXDWG (1997) is my soul mate. Looks like I will need to get a heel shifter, if that is even possible. Thoughts?

I think it will be tough with the forward controls. You might want to check with BMC. They made a heel toe shifter for mid control Dyna. I bought a seat from them, and they were very cool to work with. They respond to email very quickly.

I put a cheap little Drag Specialties HT shifter on my Breakout. You need to get it drilled and tapped so a set screw can be inserted through it into the channel on the spline or it will work its way off. Once thats done, no problems and very inexpensive / easy to do. Red arrow shows set screw.
I used extensions instead of shift pegs, 2 at the toe and 1 at the heel. They make for quite natural and comfortable shifting and the short heel piece doesn't contact the ground during aggressive LH turns. The extensions were the pricy part tho.
