The OP's question was not whether he should dyno tune vs canned map... I'm fairly certain that he knows a proper dyna tune is superior. Not everyone has the budget to accommodate a few hours on a dyno for every modification they do.

Not really nuff. To clarify what I posted about getting a dyno tune, it is to mike the bike run as well as it can. The end result may squeeze the last bit of power out, but getting rid of the popping, hesitation, etc after a pipe change is really what I was recommending.

I don't understand the punishment statement. Most have subjected our bikes to full load, full RPM runs.

I have had the fast machines you mention. My choice to get a big cube, big HP twin in my cruiser will just be to put a smile on my face, not the quest for real power
