The OP's question was not whether he should dyno tune vs canned map... I'm fairly certain that he knows a proper dyna tune is superior. Not everyone has the budget to accommodate a few hours on a dyno for every modification they do.
There's no way in hell I'd subject my motor to the punishment of a dyno tune, why so you can squeeze every ounce of power from a vtwin? You want real power, go to a four cylinder sport bike, these are twin cylinder cruisers...nuff said.
Not really nuff. To clarify what I posted about getting a dyno tune, it is to mike the bike run as well as it can. The end result may squeeze the last bit of power out, but getting rid of the popping, hesitation, etc after a pipe change is really what I was recommending.
I don't understand the punishment statement. Most have subjected our bikes to full load, full RPM runs.
I have had the fast machines you mention. My choice to get a big cube, big HP twin in my cruiser will just be to put a smile on my face, not the quest for real power
If you have a 96" and PCV I can send you a tune. I use it with the road rage mega power and big sucker but it's still a fairly generic 2-1 tune and it'll probably get you by for awhile.
long shot an I know this is an old post but I’m in a bind. Wouldn’t by chance still be cool with sharing that map?
