Default Best Dyna? FXDX vs FXDL

Got some questions about the Dynas... thinking about one of these or a newer touring model, like a Road Glide. Currently own a 2001 RK and a 2000 Fatboy.
Is the FXDX a better choice for a nice handling bike, vs the FXDL? I read they only made the FXDXT for a few years, not sure why they quit making it. I like the fact that it has Twin rotors. Any years better than others?
What about the older FXR? Good bike, but may need rebuilding/repair; and the newer ones are probably a bit quicker too? I also like like the Street Bob, but it does have a different look to it.

I would like to get a Dyna that I could install a frame mounted fairing, the FXRT-style; I think the photo is an FXRS?

If you're going for handling characteristics alone find an older FXRS and rebuild it. You won't be sorry. It's a platform that has many capabilities.

Looks like a new Low Rider. Ignition switch on the left side gives it away. Normally the horn is in that spot. FXDXTs also had the tach/speedo up on the bars, not in the dash on the tank. Nice build though. They did a great job with it.

Thanks dlporter, I got a lot to learn about the Dynas; had no idea it was a Low Rider. Anything else I should know about the Low Rider? Does it sit lower? Is that why it has that name?

duals up front, dual guages, cast wheels. owner has put in works. there are touring calipers on that thing... the moons tail light lives on it!

I'm currently riding a 2013 Street Bob and have had a few BMW's and FZ1. I think the Dyna handles sweet, a few suspension upgrades and you'll prolly be real happy.

Fork gaiters, black sliders. Very nice, indeed.

Anyone notice the top of the fork leg caps look "sunk" into the top triple clamp? Maybe an optical illusion?

I enjoy them both!
