Default What apes?

I recently purchased a 2012 Super Glide and I am in process of making it "mine." So far I have changed to Kuryakyn forward controls, changed levers and mirrors. My next mod will be handlebars. I want 14" Ape Hangers. I have ridden a 2003 Springer in the past that had 12's. I liked them but want a little taller. I'm 5'8" so don't want to go too tall. From my research it looks like I would want about 1 1/4" bars. With me not having the Wide Glide front end I do not want bars that are too wide at the base. Don't want them looking funny when mounted. What outside width would I need for my front end and who makes good quality bars?

Thanks in advance

Check the wild one outlawz. I had a set on a roadglide and they were comfortable.

I had a set of Santee 1 1/4 ape on my wifes Super Glide that looked real good and the price was pretty reasonable. I'm partial to the Wild1's Chubby line (got 10" one's on my sig pic)...but that's me.

Ran Burly's 14" narrow apes on my '02 'fore I did the FL front end. Very comfortable bars & just the right amount of pullback for me. (5'8", btw/fwiw)

I ran 14" santee bonanza bars on my old street bob, the mid glide trees mean most ape stick out either side and i'm not a fan of that. The Santee match up nicely.

I also always like the 14" Wild1 Chubbys Outlawz so I have them to go on my Fatbob

Check out Carlini, quality is top notch and comfort is exceptional. I bought what they call blems but couldn't find one flaw on them.

BR's custom bars makes awesome bars. I don't have them but all the bikes that I look at and go "Wow! What ape's are those!?" are one's he's made. He makes them custom to fit you and your bike so that would eliminate any guess work of how wide for your forks and how tall to go. They aren't cheap and you have to wait a bit but you get what you pay for and good things come to those who wait! Lol
