Default Front Suspension for newbs

I tried searching and perhaps missed it, but I'm looking for info on front suspensions & springs. Lots of places like Racetech have a FAQ section, but I'm looking for more basic info to learn about the topic. Videos are fine, but I'm not scared of reading several pages. I'm looking at getting the Racetech book, but want to read some other info in the meantime.

Thanks in advance.

This front suspension knowledge of which you seek

How it works
How to disasemble & rebuild
How to improve
How to add/ set preload
How to select springs / oil
How high up the forks go in the triples

First rule of thumb - KISS - this ain't rocket science

Youtube can be a wealth of "how to"

Otherwise - start asking questions

This is actually a link to my install thread, but does have some good pics on the inner workings and simplicity for a newb.

Also, the very first page has a link to the original Intiminators/Traxxion thread with a TON of great knowledge as to alternative systems, etc. Long read though!

It's a start for your quest

This is on the RaceTech site and will be in the RaceTech Book if you haven't seen it...

Good info regarding "what's going on in there"

For sure get the racetech book.. While most of the back section covers rebuilding of different forks it's good to see how they are put together.. The first section, has the part on how emulators work plus other things like cartridge forks..

Motorcycle suspensions can be elementry...or complex. Depends on many factors. It is these factors that make it complex.
It's as easy and straight forward as hitting a golf ball. Or, is it?
