Default Oil Cooler Lines

I am installing a vertical oil cooler on my Dyna FLD. The HD Kit comes with the oil lines that are pre bent & formed. I was concerned that the top line goes close to the front cylinder and I was wondering if any one knew of a product like steel braiding that would slip over the oil line and still be flexible enough to make all the bends. I would then cover the ends with the hose clamps.

Thanks for any help.

If you are going to go with the hose/clamp upgrade, the #16 fuel injection clamps are part #7051227, they were $1.35 each at NAPA.

The hose is fiber braid reinforced 400 psi Gates transmission oil cooler hose, also from NAPA; 3/8" I.D. I paid $7.20 for 2 feet. You'll need an uber-sharp knife or a hose cutter to cut the hose to length, it's good stuff and much stronger than the fuel line/oil hose that comes with the kit. The hose in the Jagg kit is rated at 50 psi working pressure... no thanks...

i followed the above on my dynas. On my sportster, i used s/s braid lines because the lines are exposed to the road.

gdmt i love that bike

You could use heat tape, or heat shield that slips over automotive wiring harnesses, but as long as it's an inch or two away from the motor, and cant flex enough to contact it, I wouldn't worry about it.
