Mostly clean and original looking, or at least able to be put back that way (or not), but...

I have NOTHING against anyone modding their bike AT ALL! I love seeing everyone's bikes personalized! But sometimes I hate certain mods on certain bikes. There are so many bikes that lend themselves to forward controls, lowering blocks, chrome belt guards, etc... I just hate seeing this kind of stuff done to an FXDX. It just seems like the wrong bike to take in that direction.

But just me, of course...

 

You guys are awesome! I appreciate all the help, especially the links to the bikes on craigslist. Although, I haven't reached out to those buyers its reassuring to see what the market is looking like price wise and availability wise across the US. Still can't stop thinking about that damn FXDXI... Wish I could come up with the $700 to buy it at $7200 but I don't know..... still feels a little over priced/out of my budget.

 

Yeah it's tough. Iv always believed if it was meant to be it will happen. Keep saving and maybe the bike will still be available when you are ready. As far as price goes, if you end up with the money, I say go for it.

I feel ya. I know some guys think the price is high but I feel it's actually not too bad. I posted that craigslist ad of the dx to give you an idea of what fxdx's are going for in my area. Iv also found fxdxi's and not one is below $8000. Unfortunately I think these bikes are still hot and the sellers know that.

 

I agree on all counts. The FXDX is a motorcycle that is made to be ridden quick and thrown into corners. Tall, adjustable suspension, triple disc brakes, flat track bars, mid controls, sticky tires all from the factory show that from the start. Then you do your motor mods and it's nothing but miles of smiles

 

ah well... the dealer denied my last offer of $6800 who even knows if they told the seller about the offer. The dealer said that they couldn't take $6800, because the seller would still have to pay $500 to them for the consignment sale.

 

Time to do it or not..... Some things are more valuable to others because its what they want.... You're only paying too much if you think so.... Man, u obviously love the bike.... They obviously know what they have or the seller does.... Some things are listed as I wanna sell it, but only if I get what I want for it. **** Ive sold bikes based on that. Didnt care what offer was thrown at me. Even 100 less. Didnt care. My guess is that's the bike. Can't take the cash with ya. And can ride today. Just my 2 cents.
