Default 6 speed conversion

00 Dyna Sport

I want a 6 speed gearbox with a higher 6th gear, and wonder what are the alternatives.

1. Can a newer 6 speed HD gearset fit my case and if so what years and what is involved

2. Can I bolt up a completely new HD gearbox to my 00 engine, keeping in mind the .75 swingarm piviot shaft. If so what years

3. I see the builders kit conversions and have read the pros and cons of each brand. If this is the only way Baker it is, but I am hoping for a cheaper stock alternative

I think that I would use the Baker gearset before the SE version

Any other alternatives?

Fair enough, but rather than buy a retrofit upgrade kit:
Would a gearset from a bike that came stock with a 6 speed fit my 5 speed case? There is no shortage of HD 6 speed gearsets, but later models

Does that have to be from a Dyna or would another HD gearset fit my 00 Dyna case?

Your answers are in the item description Nemo posted. Don't be so hasty. (If the original parts fit, why would the gearset be limited to the 5 speed models)

Oh, and SE parts are frequently rebranded big-name aftermarket parts.

No, the OEM 6 speed is completely different.

Which makes me wonder what will fit other than the SE and other aftermarket gearsets

In 06 on the Dynas was the first year for the factory 6 speed or "cruise drive" 6 speed. Totally new case and gear set design they are not interchangeable with the 5 speed transmission. Primary is different as well.
