Default Fuel Management needed???

First time Harley owner here. I will admit up front that I am CLUELESS and IGNORANT about these bikes. I bought an '09 Dyna Super Glide Custom a couple weeks ago. Owner before me installed a set of Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes. I've been told I need to put an FP3 fuel management device along with a high flow air filter on the bike. Said this needed to be done after changing the exhaust system , for optimum performance. I've read several articles that said this wasn't necessary. Also, this will eliminate the occasional popping on decel, they said. I'm thinking this is usual with these type pipes, but like I said..Totally clueless here. All opinions are appreciated...Thanks

Call Fuel Moto and talk to them about it. You can get by with out it but a good tuner with the right tune will add HP.

Not only add hp, but make the bike run cooler and better overall. FuelMoto is the place to go for sure.

OP, check out the tech forum on fuel injection. There are some stickys which are a good place to start learning if you want.

And congrats on your first!

Thanks for the advice. Called Fuel Moto, talked with Dave, and he suggested for what I was going to do, said the Fuel Moto Micro EFI Tuner, would be best. I will be purchasing that, plus the Screaming Eagle High-Flow Air Cleaner Kit. Again, thanks for telling me about Fuel Moto.

I can't believe I bought my fuel management system from another dealer. It's the biggest regret I have. Next time, I'm going Fuel Moto for sure.

Typically exhaust can go on without a tuner. An open intake can go on without a tuner. But when the exhaust and intake are opend up then a tuner should be installed to modify the fuel, engines run cooler and more efficiently.
