Dyna Low Rider vibration in peg
I just bought a 2007 Dyna Low Rider and just before I took it in for the 1000 mile service it developed a vibration in the left foot peg. The dealer here in Springfield, MO did the service but are stumped over the vibration in the left foot peg. My bike is still at the dealer 10 days later, and they even called in the regional manager to have a look at it. I have read several threads in here eluding to motor mounts being the culprit in these vibration problems with the Dynas, but what would cause a vibration in only the left footpeg? Any help would be appreciated, as I am "jonesing" to go out riding. Thanks all.

RE: Dyna Low Rider vibration in peg
It could be the rubbish shocks they put on the Dynas.
I also have a knock in my left footpeg. Usually only happens at low speed - but this could also be a case of me only noticing it at low speed. I read some info on a website that said bad shocks can cause this so I've been messing aboutchanging the settings on the shock absorbers since I got my 06 Bob about 14 months ago. Ithought I'd fixed it by going stifferbut it still comes and goes.
I'd be very interested to hear if your dealer finds that it's the engine mounts.
Keep us posted.

RE: Dyna Low Rider vibration in peg
I appreciate the input, dealer told me today that they had already checked the motor mounts, so what I am thinking is that if I get the bike back and the vibration is still there, I may fashion some steel struts and replace the rear shocks with them, turn it into a hardtail, and take it around the block. If that makes a difference, then I will tell the dealer what I did and see if I can't get some better shocks out of them. It makes sense though because I first noticed it after going over a bump in the highway, and the vibration seems to have the same ocsillation, or frequency, that the shock absorber would have if the spring were contacting something. Thanks again for the input, let me know if you come up with other ideas. Thanks!!!

RE: Dyna Low Rider vibration in peg
Good news, got my Low Rider back today and the vibration is gone. The cause was twofold, 1st the heatshield on the exhaust crossover was contacting something and almost rubbed a hole completely through it. 2nd, the top of the bolt that holds the kickstand on was making contact with the engine case under deceleration, so they replaced it with a different type of bolt and wa-laa, no more vibration.
