I hear ya ...

If your at all capable ... and can do it yourself, you'll save a bunch of money in labour. And it can be a good winter project.

In my case, I knew I couldn't afford it. .... So I did what any financially responsible adult would do .... I financed the parts AND the labour when I bought the bike. Turned out to be an extra few dollars a month on my payment.

I'm glad I did tho, because i was getting some serious pain in my back with the stock bars. I was actually afraid that the apes would be worse, but they're perfect. No pain at all.

Yeah that helped alot. I can't believe how much cooler the bike runs now with that new filter.

 

Looks good. I can't make up my mind what size apes to put on my 06 wide glide. 12, 14 16 I wish i new some one with them so I could see what fits me better.

 

For what it's worth, I find the 14's fit me well. I'm 5'9 and with them pushed forward slightly, my hands are about level ... or maybe a bit higher ... than my shoulders.

If there was nohandle bar lawwhere I live, I would've went with the 16's. I felt like the 14'swere as high as I could go without drawing too muchunwanted attention. From the short time I've had the 14's on, I think I would like the 16's a bit more.

 

Know what you mean. Ihad a hard time deciding 14s or 16s. Whent with my gut and got 16s. Best choice I ever made

I think the 14's are perfect for a dyna. I got the 16's and sometimes I wish I went with 14's, but then again sometimes I wish I went with 20's. They all look good!!!!!!!!! It all part of the sickness!!!!!!!!!!!!

I flip flop about what I "think" i want all the time. Too bad it costs an arm and a leg, and takes forever to try out all the possible handle bar options.
