Default Issues wiring harley mirrors with turn signals

I'm trying to install these mirrors to replace my stock turn signals but apparently they need to be wired FROM the original stock turn signals. There is only 1 wire on the mirrors, while there are 3 wires on the original stock signals. Is there anyway around this? I don't want BOTH the stock signals AND the mirror signals.... that's just overkill... I'm doing this to cleanup the front end not make it worse!

Only thing I can think of is that these are meant to compliment the stock turn signals. With only one wire you would have to run that to the signal wire and not the running light wire. It also probably grounds through the housing.

Yes they are meant to run WITH the stock turn signals... Unfortunately I didn't realize that when I got them...

So I'm trying to figure out if there is some module I can hook to the original 3 wires and then run the single wire to the mirror?

What wire do the instructions tell you to hook it to? What color?

I don't think you need a module itz.

Just kill the wire to the running light by capping it off,
then, the wire to the signal continues to the mirror.

That's the short answer.

The Harley signal module will not drive a light that does not present an electrical load. The stock light is about 5-8 ohms give or take. An LED does not put a load on the system and the module just thinks it has a burned out light and will not flash. I use Radio Shack load resistors to make the LED's work without stock lamps. They sell a 8 ohm big ceramic 20 watt load resistor for $1.89 or so. You need two. Install them in parallel with the LED's. You can also use the load module from Badlander and other makers. They are about $20 and contain the same $1.89 resistors that you can get from the Shack. They also sell a $80 unit for use with bikes that have security. You need to be careful with wiring on security bikes because the turn signal module and the security module are the SAME unit. If you do not understand what I just said, then find a friend that understands electric circuits and have him/her help you out.

I didn't realize the mirrors had LEDs cause I didn't click the HD link,
until I read what Trout wrote (makes good sense).

Looks like a nice unit, but now I'm more confused,
cause the link went to a mirror with running light and turnsignal.

Yes it is a running indicator and a turn signal, just like the original stock blinkers...

The guy who is installing this for me mentioned that he is contacting badlander for a module... they are supposed to get back to him on Wednesday to tell him if it's possible. Do any of you have a model # or part # for a badlander part that would do the trick? If this fails how about a part # for the radio shack part?

FYI... my bike does NOT have a security system.

Well the guy installing this for me says it's not possible even with the badlander module.... apparently he got the module and tried it and it doesn't work.

Has anyone successfully used this product without the stockturn signals before?

I have after market front turn signals from Kuryakyn and they have a single wire. The instructions say to attach that to the purple wire coming out of the turn signal, the light assembly grounds to the frame (no external wire needed), but they don't work as running lights, just as turn signals (unless I buy a module). So that might work in your case unless you really want them to also be running lights.
