handlebar bushings?
just wondering..noticed yesterday a little play in the handlebars on my 04' wide glide and it looks like its from where they go in the triple trees. someone told me back some time there are bushings in there..how often do they need to be changed? i had just put 16" apes on before this riding season and never really noticed it til yesterday. any help appreciated.
thanks

RE: handlebar bushings?
You might want to try urethane pushings now that you've added the apes. You're compacting the stock rubber ones.

RE: handlebar bushings?
I've heard good things about the urethane bushings. Have not changed mine yet. I check/tighten my stock bushingsevery so offten due to thte increased leverage of the apes.
I've also heard from ol'timers that a quick fix is to pull out the bushings and grind down the innner sleeves about 1/8", then reinsert. This is done on a bench grinder for a good smooth level face.
