Default BIG SHOT LONG Vance & Hines quiet baffles

How do I remove the original baffle silencersin order to install the QUIET silencers? I only manage to remove the back part...... This message I received from a friend who needs help in doing it.

You also need to remove the heat shields. Just a few muffler clamps is all. Theyslide overthe last few inches of the exhaust pipes and the bolt is inside there.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. If you look closely behind the heat shields, you will see several spiral type clamps along the pipes. These hold the heat shields in place. You will have to remove all the clamps to get the heat shields off. At the end of the pipes, the heat shield is covering the bolt to get the baffle out. I am assuming that what you removed were the end caps and are still off.

Glad I could help.
I have the silent baffles in my Big Shots and like the sound. It is a much lower rumble, but I don't know if it's any quieter! A side by side comparison will have to determine that.
