I removed the fender side reflectors on my '14 street bob reallyyyy easy yesterday with wd-40, goo gone, and dental floss...

spray some wd-40 on the reflector, then with the dental floss, put it between the fender and the reflector, and pretty much slice it out, VERY easy. That should leave the rubber glued thing in the fender still.

spray the goo gone on that, leave it for 30-45 minutes, then come back and peel it off with your hands. comes off clean and no glue residue on the fender.

I did my forks reflectors, with the whole hair drier and wd 40 way, it took me 10 minutes each and i broke a sweat, and got a little scratch on my forks. The other way was sooo much easier, and no struggle nor hair drier was used

For the forks I kept breaking floss so I actually slid a white t-shirt in there and they came right off.

Fishing line works great, does not break like dental floss.

Default Superglide factory controls.

I feel like there should be more room between the factory pegs and the shifter or brake. Sometimes when starting from a stop it would be nice to have more room to get my food on the peg without bumping onto the controls. Is there a $50.00 fix for this one. Thanks, John

Side mount license plate. Cost Free. I took my belt guard off cut it to fit plate and turned it 180 degrees. Used same rear bolt and mounting hole.

Then removed the middle brake light and put a sticker over the hole until I find something better

First, thanks for the best thread on any forum !!!

And now, yet another muffler mod thread.

Stock mufflers (2-1) on newer switchbacks and low riders are whisper quiet at idle/cruize. I wanted more sound and don't weld so decided to try playing with stock muffler.

All that's required is your choice of drill, grinder/rasp, a few squirts of high-temp paint and a couple hours.

Drilled a few holes (started with 2, then 4, then more)

Then transformed holes into slots

So far I really like sound. Nothing radical - nicely louder/deeper and more harley but still mostly mellow with a little more bark when twisted. It might be a bit more free-flowing than stock - measured by the hand behind muffler method ... and performance might feel a little flat below ~3,000 rpm??

At some point I will enlarge slots to remove ridges at outside and inside edges. This, SE AC and HD tuner have made a nice difference in bike - I'm calling it stage 1 . Someday I might try making baffle removable so I can remove (and/or replace) wrap. I also might de-cat the head pipe. I'm assuming all of the above will effect sound in some way. At this point though I like the sound as is.

Any kind of ideas for lighting your license plate with that new side mount. I'm digging the idea but not entirely sure how i could light it.
