I need a tank For my Dyna the one I has a hole some dints leaking at the rear mount and the gauge housing and gauges are broken but work.

Prob not a Sportster tank. Tanks are usually frame specific. I haven't seen much tank info posted dealing with pre 2000 tanks. I have asked. Wanted to add to the later model tank info that has been gathered.

 

Is there a place to find tanks used? I want to go to a swap meet but the closest one is 16 hours drive.
I would like to get a couple things done before spring. The guy before me had a couple too many beers before he took it for one last ride.
Changed the bars, fender struts, hand grips,mirrors and signals to get it ridable.

I will warn you about stretched tanks. Many dont meet up with the seat properly, you may have to add to your seat pan and have a custom seat made. Also, if you buy a new tank, make sure to pressure test and seal it. I found a local builder who did mine for $125

 

I havent been to that web site thanks lots of neat stuff. I like the tank with all the trimmings and gauge because mine is brokin but it is for a 95.

I fabbed up a solid nightrain tank to fit my 00 FXDX. Had to relocate the mounting bolts, but nothing beats a nice smooth tank, minus the dash running the length of it! You would also have to rewire your gas gauge.....
