Sounds like you pulled the transmission plug, it takes a quart. The oil drain plug is on the side.

It sounds like you either drained the transmission or the primary (chain case.) The oil drain plug is in the bottom edge of the oil pan on the jiffy stand side of the bike. If you look under the bike from that side you should be able to see it. Look towards the rear of the oil pan.

Harper,

There are three plugs (primary, transmission and crankcase). The primary and transmission hold about a quart and the engine holds about 2.5.

The advice on getting a manual is rock solid.

Be very careful reinstalling the drain plugs, I stripped one last week. It has not been pleasant repairing it.

Does anyone have a photograph. What size is the oil plug bolt. Metric? Standard?

Thanks
