Default Dyna Wide Tire Kit

Has anyone bought the Dyna Wide Tire Kit that HD sells for 265.00 and if so what -besides the SE 180 tire- is in the kit and do you really need the whole kit?? I have heard that all that one needs is to purchase the tire and mount it with no problems

It is the tire, two tie wraps, two bolts (rounded heads) and two new wire struts....you could probrably get by without it.

What I would do now is get the instructions...you can then see the parts that come in the kit and then order them separate from Zanonitti for about $30 bucks and purchase the the tire.

I installed an 18x5.5 rear wheel and 180mm Metzler -- no interference problems at all. The button head for the turn signal is good insurance though

"purchase the tire and mount it with no problems"

No problems, as long as you pay attention to wire routing.

Is there any noticeable difference in handling with the wider tire? The dealer here has an '08 Wide Glide with wider tire already installed that has my attention. Wondering about the interplay with the narrow front tire? Sure looks good.

you can definitely install the 180 without the kit.... i just put mine all back together, yesterday....the directional wires are close, but no problems at all.... i had it out all day yesterday- and on some rough roads, too- and no issues....just make sure your wires are pulled tight against the fender

i'm thinking i just might get the kit, anyway.... maybe install it on a rainy day just for some assurance, you know.... i do like the "wire channel" idea

....and i haven't really done any dipping around on the tire, so i can't account for any real difference in performance...but it does look bad-azz

VERY noticeable improvement in handling. The front end is no more squirrely than before. I put a 120 up front on my WG. It's a very solid feeling ride now.
