Yeah, you wouldn't want to use a 4, 5, or 7-speed lube.

My 2014 Dyna manual calls for 5k engine, 10k primary, and 20k transmission. I like the Redline with Shockproof in the transmission. It really quieted it down.

Yeah, the "6 Speed" part seems a little unnecessary but this is what Baker Drivetrain recommends, so I use it too.

Amsoil V-Twin Primary Fluid every 10K
Amsoil V-Twin Transmission Fluid every 10K (Amsoil says 20K interval)

Is this right or do I need to run a gear lube in the transmission.
This is on a 2007 Dyna FXDB
The "best" type of oil for a transmission is going to be a gear oil of the correct viscosity. You can use quite a few different things evidently.

There are boutique oils~

Golden Spectro

Torco

Amsoil

Maxima

Bel-Ray

and others.

Then, there are oils made by the companies that are bonafide "oil companies."

Chevron

Shell

Texaco

Mobil

BP (Arco)

and others.

One of these sets of companies spends literally millions of dollars testing fluids, with total control from the well to the bottle.

The other set buys base stocks (sometimes spec, sometimes off-spec) from the above "other" set, blends/compounds their additive package and hopes for the best.

Your call.

I'm running Mobil 1 75W-140 synthetic gear lube in my tranny. Shifts butter smooth and from neutral to first is a nice little "clink" instead of the old "CLUNK!"
