Street Bob vibration (buzz)
After checking everything out that I could think of and not finding anything that would cause a buzzing vibration, I decided to change out the motor mounts. \\; When replacing the front one, I had to raise the motor 1/2 inch more than when I removed the old one. \\; The local dealer did not have a rear mount in stock so had to order one, but I noticed the rubber on the rear is hard as a rock compared to the front. \\; Does anyone know if oil makes the rubber soft or hard, I had an oil leak from the starter for 4000 miles and it kept the mount wet with primary oil (over a \\;year). \\; Finally got it fixed under warranty, but I don't think anyone even looked at the mount. \\; Should the rubber be the same for both front and rear mount? \\; I sure hope the mounts will cure my vibration woes.

the rear motor mount is supposed to be stiffer because the rear swingarm attaches to the motor not the frame, other wise the moter would bounce around when riding. since the motor on dyna's arent balanced the front motor mount absorbs the inbalance and thats why the moter rocks back and forth. i had a vibration buzzing noise, it was inside the rear fender struts. theres a metal plate that was making the noise, so if the noise is behind you, check the fender struts.
