Riser bushing- HOW TO
Riser bushings HOW TO:
Tools
• ¾ & ½ in socket
• ¾ wrench
• Long nose pliers
• Flat head screw driver
• Loctite (blue)
• New bushings
Bushing info:
My bushings came from Denis Kirk for 10 bucks, with shipping they where 16 even. They are part number:
1. Cover tank with thick towel, and use painting tape on the top of the trees. Then wrap the head light in a towel as well
2. Lossen the headlight adj bolt and drop the headlight down a bit (Do not have to remove)
3. Unscrew the riser bolts, and GENTLY lay your bars down on your tank. (if you have big apes you may want another set of hands both removing and installing the bars)
4. Use a flat head screw driver to remove the show washers
5. Take long nose pliers and push out the metal sleeve that is in between the stock bushings
6. Grab the sleeve from below and pull it out.
7. Use pliers to pull out stock bushings
Install:
1. Take new bushing and put metal sleeve in one
2. Put bushing with sleeve in and then pres s on the 2nd half of the bushing. (the sleeve will hold both sides in there till your able to tighen them down with bolts)
3. (may need another set of hands for this) put some loctite on your bolts, (be sure your using both sets of show washers, one on top one on bottom)
4. Screw bolts back up thought the risers, (make sure your throttle side still had the ground wire on it)
riser lock nuts 30-40 ft-lbs.
riser clamp screws 144-180 in-lbs
5. Sit back and enjoy the secure bars!

I am thinking of doing the riser replacement thing myself. My handlebars also move a bit back and forth due to the rubber bushings. I don't like the feel.
I just checked on the Dennis Kirk webpage. Looks like the polyurethane bushings for Dynas are the ones from Drag Specialty - "Drag Specialties Polyurethane Riser Bushings" - Mfr P/N: 06020067, Dennis Kirk P/N: 594683. They are $10.95 plus shipping.
