Default Show me your aftermarket gas cap solutions (please) :)

my bike has the gas cap to the right, and the fuel gauge to the left. how do I go about replacing the fuel gauge with something better looking when I do the cap? Does it unscrew left hand, pop off, or...?

Fuel guage pops right up, then disconnect wiring. What ever guage & filler cap you get will come with clear instructions if your not sure. It's a real easy job & worth it! On my 06 dyna the fuel guage wiring clip is under the tank near the tunnel.

I got the HD flush mounts also.

I love the looks, but I've had problems with my guage working intermittently.

Default Gas Cap

As far as I can tell there are three solutions to your problem. Flush caps, Kuryakyn's battery level meter, and a false cap that looks like another gas cap. In any case, there is a plug under the tank that connects the gas gage. If you don't want to cut it, you have to remove the pins from the connector to pull the wires out.

I have the Kury Informer LED's and have been trouble free and happy for nearly 3 years with them. Only issue I had at all was the cheap POS gas cap tool, broke the first month I had it but I quickly discovered it is not needed.

lol, well I have worn out some boot leather in those mountains. Have read most every book about the Lost Dutchman, lived in Mesa for about 7 years. Beautiful country in a hot desert sort of way....
