Default Fat Bob: Mid-mount footpegs question

Ok, another Fat Bob question.. In another thread, someone mentioned that with the forward controls, the lower pipe (right side) would touch down before the controls would. Is this the case with the mid-mount controls? I would think that with the mid-controls, your pegs would touch the ground before any hard parts. Can someone with mid-controls confirm?

To the best of my knowledge, the pipes wont allow you to run mids on a FXDF.
Forwards only, or Mr Toads Wild Ride

I have mids on mine. Don't know about whether they'd protect the pipes or not. The peg mount sticks out a little bit past the pipe, but it's above the pipe, so I think the bottom of the pipe would hit the ground first.

I could be wrong. Is there a volunteer who wants to knock their bike over and check for us?

FYI - you can get the FXDF from the factory with either mids or forwards.

I had mids on mine and the pegs drug before the muffler... not sure with the forwards yet though.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I have the V&H Big Radius pipes. That could make a differance compared to stock for sure!

I have mid controls on mine....but a D&D Fat Cat. The footpegs touch down very easily, have ground them about half off at the end of the peg, but the pipe has not touched down. So I guess that doesn't help you since I have no clue about what the stock pipes would do.
