Default 39mm fork clamps on a 41mm fork

im about to buy a windshield from an 05 superglide that has 39 mm forks, my 07 streetbob has 41 mm forks, it has the docking hardware that stays on teh bike and the shield clamps to the hardware, is there anyway to make this work by welding or anything, or would i have to buy new hardware???

I would think you may have to buy new hardware.
It might be possible to get the docking hardware for the 49 mm forks and bolt them up to the clamps on the windshield. I'm only guessing here.
Your dealer might be able to clear it up for you though.

just buy new hardware... it will not fit and either crack the clamp trying to make it work (this will be mostlikely what will happen) or it will not seat flush and jiggle as you ride, this will mar your forks, and possibly have it shake loose... imagine your windshield starting to fall off while you are doing 75 down the highway!!!! not worth it brother, pick up a replacement clamp for your ride... then all you have to do is figure out how to make it line up to the mounting brackets on the shield and your docking hardware... your forks are going to be WIDER on the 49mm than they are on the 39mm so the shield will not line up either...
