There used to be a big writeup ON GATEs submergeable fuel line hoses.
They came in like a 12" piece. I found them at Oriellys.
Put them in like 3 yrs ago.

Its been a while since anyone has posted on this thread, it is a great one and has been a HUGE help to me and i did figure out that my issue was indeed the same line that most have had trouble with. So now I have begun the exhausting search for submersible fuel line and I cannot locate any store in the NYC area that will see this. I can order from NAPA, but you have to do so in store... If anyone here has found this within the five boroughs, please do let me know. Again, great thread with TONS of useful info.

Use stainless clamps if you can find them.

Or the constant tension clamps that WS6 mentioned in his initial write up. Have my daughter and a full weekend schedule so hopefully I can squeeze this job in and ride to work on Monday.

I couldn't find the spring clamps WS6 used, but Balkamp 7051226 clamps from Napa worked great for me. I installed the hose without clamp to the through-tank fitting, then installed it into the tank, and then slipped the clamp over the hose through the opening on top of the tank, and tightened it from inside the tank. Worked really well and those clamps are specifically designed to hold high pressure fuel injection hose.

Hose (comes in a packaged 1ft section, not a whole roll as shown)

I had the original hose going to the quick connect on the gas tank to come loose.
It's hard to get a clamp on it and screw the fitting back into the bottom of the tank.
I did this about 3 yrs ago.
It a tough job when yer getting older and have problems seeing up close.
