Default Installed 12" Apes on the Street Bob, need help.

I installed a set of 12" apes on the Street Bob today and all fits well except the throttle cables and the clutch cable. When I turn to the left and to the right they seem to tighten up way too much.

Did any of you do this with no problem? If so how or do I have to get new throttle cables and new clutch cable? If you had to change the throttle cables and clutch cable, what size did you have to go to?

Thanks

If they can be moved around for more room then they will be ok,if not then you will need to buy some longer ones! I dont know how you ran them!,when i installed mine i wanted them infront of my trees, but i had that problem too. So i ran them behind and they are perfect!

They may be too short, and you'll have to get slightly longer ones.

I took the second clamp off the clutch cable, ran it behind my bars, bent the throttel 90's a bit, and it all reaches, but its tight.

Yeah, this is the problem I am having. It all reaches, but tight when I turn the bars to far left and to far right, and the throttle is a bit sluggish to return to idle.

You can bend the ends of the throttle/idle cable housings for about another inch. Just drill a hole into the end of a 4x4 that is just big enough to fit the housing in, then insert it, carefully bend it straighter, then insert more, do the same. See photos attached. This may get you by for now, but I would get new cables. They are about $13 each for throttle and idle, and about $18 for a clutch from Jireh.

Here are the particulars on new cables:
From Jireh (to mount my 12.5" apes)
49-227 Russell 52" Brake line (comes with washers) $39
48-752 Pro Motion 39.5" Throttle Cable $11 (could go about 35" instead)
48-753 Pro Motion 39.5" Idle Cable $11 (could go about 35" instead)
48-664 Pro Motion 72" Clutch Cable $19
