pop the front lens off take out the bulb, you will see a yellowish white round plastic pcs with two round contact points. Basically take a small screw driver and gently work that pcs up to the top on the sides of it you will see cuts to slide those contact points and wires out the side of the round pcs. Once you slide those out that pcs will pull out then a spring will pull out. And all you will have left is two wires and the internal housing. Pull the internal housing out and all you have is the two wires and the main housing. Pop the wires out the back and all you have is the housing. Tricky the first time but not bad afterward

also on the internal housing that the bulb actually sits in on the side you will have to push the little tab in on the wire and then push the metal out the bottom to release it.

I found that the hardest part was to get the wires out of the little round white piece since the wires are pretty short...having someone give you a hand makes it a little easier. A few people told me to unplug the harness under the tank but then I'd still have to get the 'guts' out in order to powder coat.
