Question Flanders Ape hangers

Anyone have these on their bike? I was looking at their 1.25" mini apes. They seem to be good quality but kinda pricey.

I have the 1" flanders chrome and drilled mini-apes. Paid $141.95 locally and they are worth every penny. Good quality chrome and thick walled so they are stable. Very pleased here.

I'm considering those myself. Keep in mind you also have to buy new risers because these bars do not neck down to 1" in the center.

I have them on my Bob... Here's a comparison I made before the install.

Thanks for the comparison shots! I knew the Flanders weren't especially tall, but I think the bend looks just about perfect. What risers did you go with?

You're welcome, 'Redbeard' ....and you're right... you will need new fat risers... Drag sells them.. "Burly" might be the brand, i forget.

Also, if you get the standard 1.5 inch height risers, you will need a 1/4 inch shallow/stubby allen wrench, as these risers tighten from underneath... you'll have no choice if you go with standard height risers.... i picked up a Bondhus brand allen wrench off ebay ...worked perfectly.

othewise, you'll seriously gouge up your top tree trying to wedge something under the risers to tighten them

...and yes, i love the bend in these bars....they're just a tad taller than the Wild ones, but not as wide at the base ...they're 12.5s, by the way

Yeah, my complaint about the Wild1s is they're too wide at the base for my taste. Do you have any pics of the Flanders installed on your bike?

Well, I do have them installed on the bike... but it's tough to see them in context to the rest of the bike considering tank is off and both wheels are off....but i'd be more than happy to take a few pics this weekend if you'd like?

Wow, it sounds like you've got some cool stuff going on with your bike. But yeah, if it's not too much trouble please shoot a few pics to at least show how the bars look attached to the front end.
I hope I haven't hijacked your thread, mjaw. This all seems relevant.

I prefer the contour of the stock apes...just wish they were 2 or 3" taller.
