The best oil cooler for my 'bob?
#11
I've got the verticle mount coolers from Jagg mounted to the left down tubes on both of my Dyna's. I'm quite satisfied with the performance of both. One has the automatic thermostat and the other doesn't. Not a big fan of coolers mounted across the bottom of the frame where debris off the front tire is going. Synthetic oil is a good bet for you also.
What was the difference in temperature with and without?

Truthfully I've not taken the time to stick a thermometer in the oil or shoot an infrared gun at anything but what I saw after installing one on the 05 EFI bike was incredible. I got back from a highway run one day and check the oil after shutdown. The M1 20w50 was smoking hot, installed the cooler, changed the oil to fresh M1 and never saw the smoke again. Syn oil will usually drop oil temps 20 degrees and a cooler about 15-20. The auto thermostat opens at 180 degrees oil temp. For more info find the Oct and Nov issues of American Iron Magazine. Like I said works for me.
