Default Advice on polishing stuff

Bought a set of wide glide triple trees off ebay. They showed up today. Pretty good shape but they are a little pitted. Need to polish them.

Those of you whove polished stuff like this, what is your best method? Steel wool and Brasso? Polishing wheel and a rouge stick?

Does OEM triple clamps and lower fork legs have some sort of clear coat on them that I need to break thru?

Thanks.

I bought an arbor, a couple polishing wheels and some rouge sticks at Lowes and put my 1/2" electric drill in a vice to use as a buffer. Works awesome. No there isn't any clear on the trees, but there is on the front fork lowers. Check my album I did my lowers a couple weeks ago.

I'm polishing my cam cover and outer primary right now. My best advise is to send your stuff to Joe...
