Default Wider front tire on stock FXD wheel

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I'm not sure if I'm using this search thing right.

I want to put a wider tire with a lower profile on the front of my 2007 FXD Super Glide.

The stock tire is a 100/90-19. The tire I want is a 120/70-19. I have measured it every which-a-way and I'm 90% sure it'll fit, but I'd still like to hear if anybody has tried it.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not sure if a 120 will fit, but I've got a 110 on mine with no issues and it looks great, handles great, and uhh.. looks awesome!! haha, I don't know that I'd risk putting a 120 just for the extra 10mm.. but thats just me I suppose. Good luck though!

Go with a 110/80-19. Although the 120/70-19 will fit it is really too wide for the rim. The 120 likes a 3.5" rim. The 110/80-19 is a nice setup on the stock FXD wheel. You can find the size in a radial or bias.

^ Thanks. Question: what happens when a tire is too wide for the rim? Can it unseat itself?

I run a 120 on my Wide Glide under the stock fender, but I have a custom rim. The chart at the bottom of this page might help.

I know a guy who put a 200 on the stock rear wheel, which came with a 160 for the 2007 model year...

I didn't know if maybe this was a similar situation...

Anyway, my rear tire is a Metzeler Lasertec. They have a front that is a 110/90, but no 110/80. I might just do that.

I was going to go with the 110/90 19 Metzeler 880, I think it should fill some of the gap between the fender and tire
